Decorative High Back Chair In Walnut And Leather, France 1960s
-
Description
Decorative High Back chair in walnut and leather. This high back possesses a decorative charm with a nod to the past. Like a kind of medieval throne, it literally towers above many pieces of furniture, making it immediately eye-catching.The chair is made of walnut wood and shows a blonde shade here and there and feels soft and warm overall. Its frame is simple and mainly follows the classic structure. Rounded front legs at the seat level and have become patinated through use. Rear legs that also form the backrest are also finished with a round button at the top.A playful pattern consisting of seven horizontally placed wooden parts with an open circle or eye in the middle gives this chair its decorative value. The seat consists of a heavily patinated cognac saddle leather and is wrapped and secured around the edges of the frame. This chair is not exactly what you expect when you think of mid-century design, but it is distinctive and has many years ahead of it. A statement piece in the making. The condition of the chair is good with only minimal traces of use.
