DIGGES FAMILY QUEEN ANNE ARMCHAIR
Philadelphia Circa 1740
Primary Wood: Maple
Secondary Wood: Yellow Pine
Height: 39 1/4 inches
Seat Height: 15 1/4 inches
Width: 30 1/2 inches
Depth: 18 1/2 inches
Provenance: Probably made for Colonel William Digges (born 1727) and his wife Frances Robinson. It descended to their son, Major Cole Digges (born in 1750’s; died 1826), an officer from Surrey, Virginia in the Revolutionary War; and remained in the family until the present when it was sold by Martha Digges Moore of Warwick County, Virginia.
