Original Don Shoemaker Rocker "Swinger" Chair and Ottoman, 1960s
-
Description
A Classic 20th century chair and ottoman from one of the great craftsman's workshops of Mexico: Senal, S.A., Don Shoemaker's tropical paradise in Michoacan, Mexico. This iconic chair with its suspended sling and organic bone like elements is perhaps one of the most readily identifiable chair and ottoman sets of 20th century Mexican design. The exquisitely shaped surfaces of this extremely dense hardwood are more like stone than the more common and much softer redwood that was so popular during this period on our West Coast.
