Description
Eero Saarinen's iconic 'Grasshopper' chair designed for Knoll Associates. Early example (circa late 1940s), as indicated by the early 'Knoll Associates' decal. Composed of bentwood arms / legs in laminated birch plywood which support the upholstered seat / back. Birch is in original condition, and shows only slight wear (minor nicks / light general wear). Seat has been reupholstered in a light grey tweed upholstery and foam has been replaced.
Incredible lines and curvaceous form, this lounge chair is a conversation piece that shows well from all angles.
