Fine Carved Beechwood Barrel Back Bergeres, c. 1800
-
Description
This is a super chic pair of late 18th or early 19th c. European Barrel Back bergeres. I believe that the bergeres are Italian in origin, but not quite sure.
The sinuous form of the beech wood frames and slight sexy curve to the legs make this a stand out chair design. The upholstery, although not new, is in very good condition and ready for use. The tone of the velvet is perfectly matched to this year's color favorites. These bergeres would be the perfect complement to a gentleman's study or sophisticated living room. As with all of our furniture listins, we are professionally polishing the frames with several coats of hard paste wax to preserve the natural (perhaps original) surface and patina of the beech wood frames. The bergeres are ready to ship. -
