French 1840s Louis XV Style Walnut Fauteuil with Carved Accents and Upholstery

Description
A French Louis XV style walnut fauteuil from the mid 19th century, with carved accents and newer upholstery. Created in France during the second quarter of the 19th century, this walnut armchair features a slanted camelback connected to two open arms with scrolling and splaying extremities. The seat, back and partial arms have been reupholstered with a double welt fabric while the ensemble is resting on a carved base. Four cabriole legs, adorned with acanthus leaves and shells, are connected to one another through a richly carved apron on all sides. With its graceful Louis XV style lines and walnut patina, this French fauteuil circa 1840 will bring a touch of elegance to any living room or bedroom. The arms are 24"H while the seat is 22"D.
