French 19th Century Empire Daybed

A stately Empire mahogany daybed. The mahogany has a wonderful rich, deep patina. Elements of Empire style are seen in the traditional, front facing, recurring column theme and detailed brass ormolu capitals and bases. The two columns facing the back are simple square columns. The large front rail has a shallow concave curve with bookmatched veneer, adding another striking Empire element. The whole sits on wheels to allow ease of access for making the bed. This bed will require a custom mattress between a Twin XL and Full size. Inside: 80”W x 47”D
