French 19th Century Empire Daybed
-
Description
A graceful 19th-century French Empire daybed, expertly carved from solid mahogany with curvaceous swan motif. Featuring a sleigh-like profile and perfectly symmetrical, allowing the piece to float in a living room or complement a bedroom. A dotted chenille upholstery in cream is of good quality and condition, an excellent choice to feel inviting in any interior, with a single bench cushion and a pair of toss cushions at each side. The mahogany wood has been cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to restore its luster, highlighting the elegant swans on each corner, including their stylized feathers. The daybed is lifted by four legs ending in little paws. Comfortable and solidly built, a fine example of 19th century French Empire style. Please view the detailed images.
