French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Marquise Bergere
-
Description
A French Louis XVI marquise bergère, better known as a chair and a half, from the 19th century. This example offers timeless sophistication, the lines and ornamentation are spare allowing the gorgeous blue striped striped upholstery to shine. Down feather in the cushion is an invitation to curl up and relax in the wide seat. Fluted carvings in the wooden frame, toned and refreshed by white paint, echo the repetition and texture of the corduroy, down to the tapered legs. View the detailed images.
