French 20th Century Louis XVI Style Dining Chairs
-
Description
A lovely set of six Louis XVI style painted and upholstered armless dining chairs, circa 1930. Their clean silhouettes of straight lines and squared backs is softened by the French gray painted wood frames showing light patina. Striped upholstery–however discolored and worn–is true to 18th century fashion of the King and Marie Antoinette, blending feathered and floral motifs over the alternating rows of gray beige, and gold stripes. Turned and tapered front legs are fluted whereas the back two saber legs are left squared, angling slightly outward. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition. Sold as a set of six.
