Set of Eight Frode Holm Dining Chairs, Walnut and Leather, Illum, Denmark, 1940s
-
Description
This very rare set of eight dining chairs was designed by Frode Holm and produced by Illum Bolighus in Denmark in the 1940s. The elegant design is marked by the tapered front legs, the slightly curved back legs and the distinct back rest. The refined back with six vertical wooden spokes placed diagonally in pairs, creating a three cross spindled back. The frames made of solid walnut wood. The chairs retain their original cognac leather upholstery which has developed a beautiful patina over time. The chairs are in good condition with a natural patina on both the wood and leather. Minor signs of wear consistent with age and use. On three out of the eight seats, the leather has some tears. Reupholstery by our master upholsterer is possible, please contact us to learn more about the possibilities.
