  • Description
    English early 18th century oak Bacon Settle c. 1720 of superb color and condition. The field paneled doors open to reveal original iron hooks and three later shelves. The back has ventilation holes. Typically the doors are on the back side. These pieces were meant to serve as an island along the side of the ingle nook fireplace so that drafts would be blocked. This piece stands on sledge feet and was found in Wales in the 1960’s. Original back boards. Upper section 12? deep. English Bench / Settee / Cabinet.
