    Very Rare Set of Six George 11 Period Scarlet Coloured Japanned Side / Dining Chairs.

    Each Chair is Profusely Decorated Throughout with Outstanding Gilded Chinoiserie Scenes on a Scarlet Japanned Background with Figures, Fauna and Animal Subjects. The Typical Vase Shaped Back Splat and Tapering Caned Seat Standing upon Cabriole Front Legs with Stretchers Suggest Giles Grendey, Clerkenwell London. Circa 1730.
