Pair of Italian Mid-Century Wingback Lounge Chairs by Isa Bergamo & Gio Ponti
-
Description
Elegant Pair of Italian Mid-Century Modern Hi-back Lounge chairs or Wingback Armchairs, known as model # 512 by Gio Ponti for ISA Bergamo. Recently re-upholstered in Italy. Gio Ponti was known for working in the Modern Neoclassical style; these chairs reflect that and can define both traditional and modern interiors. The set features pieces with high backs, a sculpted profile, refined, sensuous lines and deep comfort. The refined legs are in solid brass and are elegantly sculpted and tapered to allow the chairs to stand apart. References: Pierre Berge & Associes, Auction, Paris, June, 11, 2019, Lot #97.
