This rare pair of armchairs was designed by Gustav Axel Berg in the late 1940s. The chairs were manufactured by Berg's own company AB G.A. Bergs in Sweden. The striking design is marked by the sculptural, rounded arms and the organic lines of the backrest and front of the seat. The buttoned back and side details add to the elegance of the design. The slightly tapered front and back legs are in solid beech wood. The chairs are well constructed and very comfortable to sit in. The chairs retain their original upholstery in a dimmed chartreuse striped wool fabric. The fabric has been preserved well. The interior upholstery is in reasonably good condition, the interior springs could be reinforced. The chairs can be reupholstered in a fabric of your choice by our master upholsterer, please contact us to learn more about the possibilities. Literature reference: H. Hedqvist, C. Bjork.
