This extremely rare armchair was designed by Gustav Bergmann and produced by his company in Lippe, Germany in the early 1960s. The organic and round lines of the design give the chair a striking and inviting appearance. The seat and armrests are placed at an angle which adds to the architectural, dynamic quality of the design. The tapered, outward oriented legs are in solid beech wood which has been finished with a dark brown stain. The chair has been fully reconditioned and the entire interior upholstery has been renewed in a natural camel/beige ‘Opio’ fabric by Fadini Borghi / Pierre Frey. This very soft bouclé fabric is a wonderful composition of mohair, wool and alpaca. The legs have been restored and refinished.
