A driving force in the midcentury Danish modern movement, Danish-born (1914-2007) Hans J. Wegner was a master at craftsmanship and Nordic functionality- created a catalog of iconic pieces for many of the leading Scandinavian furniture makers. The GE 375 was designed in the 1960s as a gentleman's chair with or without arms. Generous proportions with a solid oak frame sitting low to the ground and slatted high-back. Produced and marked by Getama, one of Denmark's oldest and most successful furniture factories. Perfect clean lined wool fabric upholstery on three operate loose cushions.. Denmark, later 20thc. Very good condition.
