This striking set of twelve dining chairs was designed by Henning (Henry) Kjærnulf in the 1960s. The chairs were produced by Nyrup Møbelfabrik in Denmark and form a rare variant on Kjærnulf 'Razorblade' series The set consists of twelve chairs made of solid oak with a beautiful grain and colour. The style and shape of the frames is marked by the scalloped and rounded shapes of the backrest and apron. The distinctive backrests with the abstract razorblade pattern which is Kjærnulf's trademark design. Striking carved details can be found in the four legs and the stiles, adding to the organic, Danish modern aesthetic. The chairs are in overall very good condition, restored preserving the original, warm patina of the oak wood. The seats have been completely renewed and reupholstered in a beautiful ivory Lelièvre Paris bouclé fabric.
