Ib Kofod-Larsen Seal Highback Chair in Teak produced by OPE, Sweden 1960s

Description
Ib Kofod-Larsen Seal highback lounge chair in teak and fabric produced by OPE. This famous seal chair belongs to the canon of Danish design and was produced in the 1960s by the Swedish exclusive furniture manufacturer OPE. The illustrious Danish designer Ib Kofod-Larsen named this chair after the eponymous ski resort.
The frame made of teak is very pronounced and beautifully crafted. Its wooden joints connecting the armrests are attached to the front and back legs and are of the highest level. Beautifully rounded, the front legs taper and merge seamlessly into the rest of the construction. The natural drawings in the wood are beautifully visible on the sleek armrests. The frame is, as it were, an exoskeleton in which the seat is draped. The edges 'hang' subtly over the sides and the backrest rests blindly on the back rail.
The seating area has been completely reupholstered with the exception of the rough and beautiful character of the leather straps. We can't emphasize enough that this is an extremely comfortable lounge chair that easily adapts to any interior. The condition is entirely in accordance with age and use. There are some superficial scratches and marks on the frame. The fabric is newly upholstered. -
