[Queen] Elizabeth Lounge Chairs by IB Kofod Larsen U56

Authentic pair of IB Kofod Larsen model U56 lounge chairs handcrafted by Christensen & Larsen with finely sculpted teak frame, steamed wood back structure, and inner spring seat. The chairs have been newly reupholstered in period accurate teal wool textile. This set was acquired in 1958 by a Democratic California State Senator and in the same southern California household until they arrived to our workroom. The iconic Scandinavian lounge chairs received their name, the Elizabeth chairs, after Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh purchased a pair of the chairs during their first State Visit to Denmark in October 1957, where they were hosted by King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid of Denmark.
