Pair of rare early 20th century bentwood side chairs designed by famous Austrian architect and painter Marcel Kammerer (1878 -1959) for Jacob & Josef Kohn. The renowed company of J&J Kohn was beside Thonet the world market leader when it came to bentwood furniture. Arftully made around 1910 out of fine beech, this uncomon pair of Kohn side chairs shows an exceptional modern design that would actually indicate more a 1980s origin - this in turn proofs how Marcel Kammerer´s designs were ahead of its time. These absolutely amazing bentwood side chairs come with a so-called "Vienesse mesh" seating surface and are in great restored condition. Marked with the brand stamp "J&J Kohn Teschen Austria" as well as the wellknown paper mark, this unique shaped Art Nouveau side chairs by J&J Kohn can be combined with many different interior designs due its timeless design. A great pair of antique, hard to get Marcel Kammerer side chairs.
