Antony Chair, Model 356, by Jean Prouvé for Vitra
-
Description
Designed in 1954, the Antony Chair is a modernist classic by Jean Prouvé. Typical of his preference for industrial materials, this chair sets a curvaceous sweep of lacquered birch plywood above a frame of black powder-coated steel. By license, Vitra reissued the chair in 2002, but it is no longer in production. The manufacturer's label “Prouvé Collection, Vitra Edition" remains attached underneath.
