Vitra Fauteuil de Salon armchair in Cognac with Ecru base by Jean Prouvé. Developed by Jean Prouvé, the Fauteuil de Salon is a typical example of the distinctive structural aesthetic of his designs. The armchair's understated character suits a wide variety of interiors, and its ample upholstery and oiled, solid wood armrests emanate inviting comfort.

Fauteuil de Salon joins simple planes into a unified architectural object with a comfortable seat surface and backrest. Rediscovered in the archives of the French engineer Jean Prouvé, the armchair has been updated in a contemporary colour palette. With oiled, solid wood armrests and the designer's characteristic structural aesthetic, the Fauteuil de Salon can be ideally combined with other pieces in the Prouvé collection.

Price is per item. Handmade to order in Switzerland. Current configuration shown is in cognac with Ecru base and natural oak armrests. Also available in the below color and material configurations. Please specify when ordering.

Seat and backrest: Leather (snow, cement, granite, smoke blue, jade, khaki, umbra grey, asphalt) or twill fabric (pearl, jade grey, light grey, ice blue, avocado, green, green-grey, blue-grey, ink blue, dark grey, black, brown, coconut, dark red, cognac, brick, light red, canola) with polyurethane filling
Bases: Deep black, Japanese red, chocolate, ecru
Armrests: Natural oak, smoked oak, American walnut
Glides: Hard glides (standard) or felt glides.
