Set of 8 Mid Century Handrubbed Walnut & Cane Dining Chairs Signed John Stuart

Description
This stunning set of eight Mid Century Modern dining chairs were realized by the esteemed maker John Stuart Inc, in the United States circa 1960. The set features two arm chairs and six side chairs. The chairs offer hand rubbed bookmatched walnut frames with stylized klismos style hind legs and slightly tapered volumetric front feet; gently inclined backs with cane centers; and volumetric square cushions newly reupholstered in Holly Hunt Great Plains flaxen striated fabric. The arm chairs offer sculptural curvilinear arms, and all of the chairs have concave detailing in brown walnut at their apexes. With their clean modernist lines and refined color palate, these dining chairs would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. They have been newly reupholstered and restored to mint condition. They retain their original labels reading "John Stuart Inc.".
