LARGE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH WALNUT & EMBOSSED LEATHER SNOOKER BENCH (BANQUETTE DE BILLIARD)
A rare French walnut and original embossed leather billiard / snooker bench measuring over 7ft long.
French Circa 1850-60.
Extremely well executed, the padded leather armrests to each end, held by finely turned and fluted supports with carved disc patrea to the top, over a softly sprung original emboss leather upholstered long seat.
Raised on six conforming tapering ring turned fluted supports joined by H frame stretchers housing twin retractable foot rests all finishing on turned toupee feet.
Finished to the rear this bench can stand independently within the room.
Offered in excellent original condition this rare billiard snooker bench has been waxed to bring out a lovely colour and patina whistle retailing the original embossed leather and individual brass star studwork.
