Large French Wrought Iron & Rope Sculpture Lounge Chairs Style of Ron Arad, Pair
-
Description
Rare and visionary pair of large, French, modernist, architectural, armchairs / lounge chairs attributed to the French contemporary artist and sculptor, Gerard Coquelin, circa 1990. The chairs have a totally transparent skeletal structure, much like a building in the process of construction, and are composed of thin round bars of wrought iron painted a matte black. There is an internal, knotted nylon rope seating structure that meshes with the iron and provides amazingly comfortable seating. These chairs are unique works of functional sculpture and can be used indoors and outdoors.
