Lounge Chair, Model MS6, in Teak by Madsen & Schubell, Denmark 1950s
-
Description
This beautiful and comfortable chair was designed in the 1950s by Arnold Madsen and Henry Schubell. The teak frame has acquired a beautiful patina over the years. A golden glow breaks through the refined dark brown color of the teak on the wider parts of the armrests. When daylight touches the surface it even creates a refined glare. The dynamic of the frame is special and reveals the enormous craftsmanship that the Danish are known for. Extreme comfort is created by the slight inclination of the seat and backrest, the latter being supported by a wooden beam. The beautiful proportions and positioning of the seating area give the chair a light-feeling character. Its legs are beautifully turned and merge into the rest of the frame, through seamless connections. A two-tone velvet fabric upholstery also provides a distinctive character to this item. If you prefer a different composition regarding upholstery, we are of course at your disposal to discuss the possibilities. The condition of this chair is good and of course, as befits its age, it has a number of signs of wear such as small superficial scratches and stains.
