Description
Marcel Breuer bent plywood chaise longue / "Long Chair." Originally designed by Marcel Breuer for the English company, Isokon in 1935, this example is a 1970s Knoll version retaining its original Knoll brown wool upholstery. Organic form with sinuous lines enhanced by the warmth of color and grain of the bent plywood. The upholstery shows light fading and a linear snag in the back; overall, usable, good, vintage condition. Plywood has been refinished; only minor wear remains (namely, a small piece of replaced veneer to the base, as shown).
Retains the Knoll tag to the underside.
