Description
The 'Bambole' line is a famous mid-century design classic designed by the legendary Italian designer Mario Bellini. It was awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 1979. This specific two-seater from the series is actually called the Bibambola. Its playful design language and the almost inviting way in which this sofa tempts you to sit in it are wonderful. The model we offer here is an early version with a metal frame on the inside that is completely encapsulated in polyurethane. The neck leather is dark brown in color and has a truly sublime patina. In a very subtle way, we see an abundance of shades within the spectrum of the color brown. Interesting to see is how the shadow flows from the folds to the light that falls on the curves and thus makes the leather shine. This Bibambola, therefore, compares differently to a newer variant. The playful and fresh character of a new version cannot compete with the beauty that has been created in this item by the passing of time. At the bottom is the large B&B Italia logo with a handwritten serial number. This sofa has been recently restored with full respect for the authentic look of the design and feel of the material. This includes the signs of use of an object of this age, such as small scratches, color differences, and other imperfections.
