Pair of Postmodern faceted club chairs designed by Michael Graves composed of stained Birdseye Maple frames with ebony inlaid triangles and applied ebonized cylindrical decorations at the feet (ca. 1980, USA).
Scarcely seen pieces by the noted architect remaining highly stylized with their sweeping lines, luxe materials and unique incorporation of geometrical shapes, while providing the utmost comfort.
Upholstery is original and shows well with only fading/soiling around the arms and light pilling (usable as is if light wear is acceptable). Frame has been conservatively refinished and is in very good, vintage condition with only light age-commensurate wear remaining to veneered arms, as shown. Ebonized cylindrical details have additionally been touched up.
Matching settee pictured is available separately - listing is for the pair of chairs alone.
