Description
A striking example of Italian mid-century design, this elegant rocking chair from the 1960s boasts a sculptural walnut-stained beechwood frame with graceful curves and an airy presence. The backrest features its original cane panel, lending a warm organic texture that beautifully contrasts with the newly upholstered tweed cushions. Beneath the seat, new Pirelli straps provide lasting support while maintaining the chair’s vintage authenticity. Newly refinished and reupholstered, this piece seamlessly blends function with style—perfect for a modern or classic interior.
Fun Historical Fact: Rocking chairs have been around since the early 18th century, but it wasn’t until the 1950s and 60s that designers like Charles and Ray Eames, Hans Wegner, and others reimagined them with sleek, sculptural forms, elevating them from rustic comfort to high-design statement pieces. -
