Description
This elegant set of six Mid Century Modern chairs were designed by the great Niels Koefoed for Koefoeds Hornslet, model "Lis" in Denmark, circa 1960. Finished in a rich ebonized teak, they feature a stylized ladderback design with a back that subtly tapers bow tie form at the apex. The legs are stylized klismos- reduced to their essence with gently curved hind legs and straight cylindrical front ones with a stylized hourglass form apron. With their clean modernist lines and graphic silhouette- designed by one of the preeminent Scandinavian 20th century visionaries- these chairs are as versatile as they are stunning. They would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century to contemporary. They have been newly reupholstered and restored to mint condition. The seats has been newly reupholstered in a smoked platinum gauffraged crocodile print velvet.
