Formica Rocker

Description
Formica is OWL’s first series, marking the beginning of the brand and workshop. The collection presents a series of seating variations in baltic birch plywood, a neutral material fit for any type of home or interior design project. As a means to be open and customisable, the series comes with a collection of add-ons in formica, which allows for a more playful and colourful design.
OWL is a design studio based in Barcelona, known for its unique and innovative approach to furniture and object design. Led by the talented designer, Alfredo Lopez, the studio creates a wide range of pieces, with a focus on using wood as the primary material. However, the studio is not limited to wood, and is always exploring new materials, and techniques to create unique and interesting pieces.
One of the key features of OWL's design philosophy is their approach to creating furniture collections. Instead of designing individual pieces, the studio views their collections as constantly evolving series. This approach allows them to adapt to different people, projects, and spaces, ensuring that the furniture they create is versatile and functional.
Some of the studio's notable series include Formica (2018), Capsules (2019), and La Pepino (2020). Each of these series has its unique aesthetic and design elements, but all share a common thread of innovation and experimentation. The studio's most recent collection, Alabaster (2022), is a continuation of this approach, showcasing their exploration with a material not commonly used in furniture design. -
