Pierre Gautier-Delaye Dining Chairs - 1960's
-
Description
"Coffee Bean" chairs by French designer Pierre Gautier Delaye, circa 1965. Subtle and modest dining chairs, executed in stained beechwood. The seating area is divided into two organically shaped slats and is detailed with joints of the cylindrical legs. The small-looking backrest is attached to the slender back legs, creating an elegant appearance.
Pierre Gautier Delaye was an important mid-century designer from France, who trained at the Paris School of Decorative Arts. Delaye initially started working as a draughtsman, then joined the interior design department of Raymond Loewy’s studio before starting his own firm in Faubourg St Honor Street, Paris.
We have eight chairs available, all in great original condition, priced per piece.
