Slatted Straight Wooden Bench With Blue Cushions By Poggi, Italy 1960's
-
Description
This bench was made in the 1960s by the Italian furniture manufacturer Poggi. The founder Roberto Poggi has collaborated with many illustrious designers. Franco Albini in particular made several iconic designs for the company, such as the Luisa chair and the Stadera desk. In addition, Ugo La Pietra designed his successful Uno sull'altro for Poggi.
Design
The simple design consists of eleven lightly patinated walnut beams that are connected to each other by three metal tubes. A black-colored metal base stands on wooden legs and adds a kind of airiness to the already slim and feather-light design. It is beautiful in all its simplicity and to add a bit of comfort and cachet there are two matching turquoise velvet cushions.
