Reference: This corner chair appears in Long Island is my Nation: The Decorative Arts & Craftsmen, 1640-1830, by Dean Failey, number 140, page 121. A corner chair with the same quarter wedge shape and pointed pad feet is in the collection of Winterthur and appears in Joseph Downs, American Furniture: Queen Anne and Chippendale Periods in The Henry Francis du Pont Winterthur Museum, entry 62. This is a shape that is particular to New York. -
