Philadelphia, Pa., ca. 1760-1770
Walnut
Over-all in fine condition, old repair to one stile.
The chair exhibits great form having a carved, shaped crest with a shell and swept back ears above an unusual vasiform splat. The trapezoid seat frame is supported by cabriole legs in the front with carved trifid feet.
