    Rare Federal Adjustable Piano Stool
    Probably Boston or North Shore area, ca. 1810.
    Mahogany, 19th c. needlework upholstery.
    Over-all in fine condition, retaining an early varnish finish, minor losses to tips of feet.
    Provenance: From a prominent collection, Salem, Massachusetts.
    This finely executed adjustable piano stool with a round upholstered plank seat is supported by four tapered, turned, reeded legs and joined by a cross-stretcher with scrolled-out feet.
