Rare French Mid-Century Gilt Wrought Iron Stool / Bench by Rene Drouet
-
Description
A Rare French Mid-Century Gilt Wrought Iron Stool / Bench by Rene Drouet, France, 1940. Drouet was one of the most important pre WWII creators in France and this work was emblematic of his style with its exceptional Neo-baroque form using dramatic curving legs and rhythmic, lyrical curving forms along the apron. This is balanced by the sober rectangular seat covered in a neutral leather. The bench / stool offers a quiet sense of drama to an interior and works as an occasional piece or vanity stool. Dimensions: H 16.5” x 20 x 17.25”. Seat dimensions: 16 x 13.75.
