Description
Available right now, this midcentury sofa for three in beige leather, gray fabric and hardwood is absolutely stunning!
The sofa is called “Millor” and features a hardwood structure upholstered in Italian Beige leather, loose cushions in gray cotton fabric and four legs in Brazilian Rosewood, known as Jacaranda, with chromed finishes. Not only is the sofa gorgeous but it is extremely comfortable.
Pieces like this that combine different materials require mastery in upholstery so we teamed up with Manuel and his team, some of the best old school upholsterers Brazil has to offer. This team worked with Sergio Rodrigues for 20 years and have mastered sewing techniques like nobody else. But the wait was worth it and this upholstery masterpiece was born! This can be seen throughout the piece but especially in the smooth stitching of the leather and fabric.
This sofa is SO awesome that we’ve paired it with other pieces in the gallery, always looking spectacular. The image showcase the sofa next to a Jorge Jabour club chair, two Bureau straight armchairs and a coffee table by Giuseppe Scapinelli.
This Brazilian Modern gem has all the fun aspects of a true bold Brazilian Modern piece: a robust wood structure combined with a delicate upholstery resulting in a very comfy look. A sofa like these flexes into any Mid-Century Modern, Modern or Contemporary, Transitional, or even Hollywood Regency environment.
About the author: Sergio Rodrigues was a renowned Brazilian furniture designer who began his career in the 1950s. During this time, modern Brazilian architecture was already well-established, but furniture design was still in its infancy. Rodrigues set out on a Mission to create furniture that was both truly Brazilian and modernist in style.
Throughout his career, he accomplished this goal by establishing a strong and modern design language that was reflected in all of his work. His designs were known for their purity, simplicity, and functionality, all while staying true to traditional Brazilian influences.
Overall, Sergio Rodrigues had a profound impact on the Brazilian furniture industry and helped shape it into what it is today. His legacy lives on through his designs and continues to inspire future generations of furniture makers.
