This beautiful set of ten modernist director style set of dining chairs were realized in the United States during the latter half of the 20th century. They feature square seats with elegantly apportioned aprons in natural oak that offer square detailing motifs on the faceted corners. The legs are conical with ringed detailing near the base and apex of each seat. Additionally, each chair offers a convex seat and gently reclined seat upholstered in a sophisticated grisaille and persimmon orange fabric presenting stylized lion neoclassical motifs, while the back panels are clad in a beautiful rust hued fabric that perfectly compliments the hues of the oak and upholstery throughout. The captain chairs offer sculptural arms consisting of two curved supports that adjoin forming a curvilinear tear drop embellishment. With their beautiful attention to detail, refined color palate, and clean modernist lines, these dining chairs would be a winning choice for any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. They are in excellent vintage condition.
