A set of four period English Regency armchairs in wood elaborately carved and painted to resemble bamboo, having shaped cresting rail over backs with three interlocking ovals, downswept arm supports with conforming oval dividers, on a curved cushioned seat, over legs joined by modified box stretchers. Sturdy and fabulously decorative. Circa 1820.
