A matched set of 5 Swedish Gustavian period painted dining chairs from the 19th century, newly upholstered in linen with carved and pierced ladder backs and slip seats. This is an exquisite set of chairs.
The Gustavian style, named after King Gustav III of Sweden, is a restrained interpretation of the French Louis XV and Louis XVI style. King Gustav III was enamored with the neoclassical style and therefore created his own interpretation for Sweden. -
