A Swedish neoclassical style painted wood bench from the late 19th century, with carved waterleaf motifs and fluted legs. Created in Sweden during the last quarter of the 19th century, this neoclassical style bench features a rectangular floral upholstered seat, sitting above an apron carved with waterleaf motifs. Painted in a soft color typical of the Scandinavian taste for light palettes, the bench is raised on six fluted legs with carved rosettes on the knees. With its Classical lines and nicely weathered patina, this Swedish bench circa 1880 will being an elegant presence to any living room, bedroom or hallway. -
