Set of Four Regency Faux Rosewood Klismos Chairs after a Design by Thomas Hope

Description
The deeply curved crest rails with carved palmettes to the sides anchored by brass inlay of trailing anthemion (honeysuckle). The seat caned and now with flat squab cushions above curved sabre legs to both front and back. The chairs in beech and very finely inked to simulate rosewood (over 90% of the decoration being original) with brass inlay on the center of the crest rail.
These chairs are inspired by the designs of Thomas Hope in Household Furniture and Interior Decoration 1807, plate 11 figures 3 and 4, and, plate 25 figure 4. -
