Warren McArthur lounge chair upholstered in leather.
This chair :"The Chairman" is one of his most impressive.
The Warren McArthur Corporation catalog of 1936 describes the Chairman chair (Style No. 1081) as: ". Distinction and poise, with comfort that is rare.. Richly upholstered in finest leather, with spring seat. Stability and ease, firmly bound in broad bands of silver satin anodic aluminum. A chair for men of strength and action,"
The leather upholstery was painstakingly detailed to as closely resemble the catalog illustration as possible at a cost of $6,000.
The frame has an abraded surface in places as photographed and oxidation, all of which have been cleaned , stabilized and resealed with clear lacquer as was done as the final step in the factory prior to upholstering.
All of Warren McArthur anodized furniture was lacquered.
This is a very rare chair, one of only six that I have had since1985 -

The frame has scratches and marks from rough handling and poor storage the photolights were placed to accentuate the surface.
