Description
A studio craft side chair by American craftsman Wharton Esherick (1887-1970). The chair is made of a carved wood frame with a brown leather seating.
The first version of this model was produced in 1938 in a number of forty pieces for the Hedgerow Theatre in Rose Valley, Pennsylvania. The frame of these chairs was made of hammer handles, giving the chair its name. -
