Description
Lounge chair by Ejner Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen in patinated leather and rosewood by Cabinetmaker Willy Beck, Denmark, 1950s
Very nicely patinated lounge chair / large armchair in dark brown leather. This leather is from the 1950's and over the years the leather has totally changed in color into dark brown almost red sometimes. The leather runs all the way through onto the armrest and part of the legs that have the same colour as the leather so the whole appearance is homogene. For the wood a very strong brazilian hardwood was chosen that was used a lot in that period but is now protected. An inviting armchair and quite stately in its proportions so very well suitable in more formal situations. What stands out are the rounded shapes of the chair and the leather: amazing patina. No tears, in good condition. Note the shape of the seating part, a nice detail that you will notice more if you walk past several times. We love details... -
