18th Century English Welsh Dresser Base

$ 20,000
  • Description
    :An 18th Century English Oak Dresser Base with Wonderful Color and Patination and a Sophisticated Frieze. Although this dresser base is of the usual rectangular shape, that is the only way in which it could be described as typical. The sophisticated frieze with undulating design is very well-balanced and highly pleasing, as is the hardware including fine fire gilt swans' neck handles. It utilises a combination of mouldings leading from the top to the frieze rather than the more usual single moulding and the piece is beautifully proportioned. What really sets the piece apart, however, is the quite superb color and patination. It has acquired the most beautiful honey colour with darker patinated areas and is one of the most attractive pieces of oak we have handled. H 30¾” x W 83” x D 19¼”
