Description
Classic Mahogany Twin Pedestal Sideboard William IV Period 19th century. Twin Pedestal Mahogany Sideboard having true to period solid mahogany wood boards make up much of the piece. Twin pedestals stand with tapered columns protruding the cabinets door faces, supporting a radius edged top with two drawers. Solid Mahogany boards make up the upper back plate with a crown molding. The design of the molding throughout the doors and top give this sideboard a substantial presence. The rounded corner details of the top soften the mass adding refined style enhancing architectural appeal. For use this piece has two top drawers and two side cabinets. One cabinet has a shelf with drawer compartment wine bottle rack underneath, the other cabinet has two shelf spaces. Overall condition is very good. The top has some stains in the wood underneath the finish visible with close inspection, a testament to the character of its patina. Also having an original key that locks the right side cabinet. Nicks and dings to the edges and bases are present. Please see pictures. A very nice 19th century period antique sideboard in good condition.
